It was when I was writing the dialogue for Commissioner Barton (especially his line in panel 2) that I "found" the tone for the series that I wanted: slightly off-center, slightly goofy, and very earnest and in its own way "innocent"; reminiscent of the 1966 Batman TV series (if you ignore the fact that the heroine does her crimefighting in the nude).

And in that last panel I try to rectify a dire situation existing in comics: not nearly enough depictions of superheroines stripping down to their "fighting togs". (Once again, comparing to Superman, who is often shown pulling his shirt apart to reveal his costume.) Here I have to confess that my biggest disappointment with Lynda Carter's portrayal of Wonder Woman in the classic TV series is that we never see her opening her blouse to reveal her costume; she does this stupid (IMO) spinning magical transformation. Yes, yes, I understand why; I'm still disappointed.

Oh, and just in case you're wondering: you don't see buttons flying off when she pulls her blouse open because the buttons are sewn permanently onto the blouse. The blouse is fastened with Velcro so that she doesn't have to sew the buttons back on every time she has to strip for battle. Similarly, the cameo (which contains some of the electronic circuitry she uses to contact the Commissioner) is attached in such a way as to be easily removable when undressing.
