| COMMENTARY:Sometimes I think I'm jinxed: some ideas that I get for stories, or even just cute lines are anticipated and implemented in the pop culture before I can get around to executing them myself. (I don't remember if I've ever mentioned how similar the plot of Independence Day (ID4) was to the origin story I'd written for Starburst, but the parallels are so obvious that I'd need to rewrite her origin lest anyone think I ripped off ID4 for my character.) Well, on a smaller scale it's happened again, with Tom Thorndyke's line about "a low-budget remake of 'War of the Worlds'"... and everybody knows by now that Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise are teaming for a remake of guess what?! (At least it's not "low-budget"...) |
