Time for a color picture! A bunch* of the pictures in this gallery were scanned from rough, unpolished pencil drawings, and color added in Photoshop. (I can't recall exactly why I didn't simply ink the drawings first, and then scan them; I think I'd created better drawings that way. But then, maybe I was under the impression at the time that these were just practice pieces, to learn and perfect computer coloring techniques, and didn't think they'd ever be displayed.)

This is, I think, the first picture that displays Testuko's "costume", e.g. the clothes she'd be wearing in most of the promotional art unless there was a reason she'd have to be dressed in something else. (A hangover from comics and TV cartoons, I suppose, where you see certain characters always dressed the same way, e.g. Daphne in Scooby-Doo always wearing the purple dress and pink hose.) (That's twice in one sentence I've used the term "e.g." ...) Anyway, here's where I try to establish Tetsuko in green leotard midriff top and purple bikini briefs. Although there are times I get confused, and make the top purple and the briefs green; and sometimes the top is striped light and dark purple. Maybe that's why I've largely dropped the idea of a "standard costume" for Tetsuko. It's not like she's a superheroine, or anything...

*"Bunch" is a technical term used among artists: more than a "few" but fewer than a "scad". (Ten "scads" to a "sh-tload".)
