COMMENTARY: I had originally intended to call the villain of this piece "Robot Master", feeling that to be a suitably "Golden Age"-y villain name. (As explained in the article on Dyna's creation, Dyna the Damsel Dynamo! is intended to have a strongly Golden/Silver Age feel to it; with the overabundance of "reinterpretations", "deconstructions", "reconstructions" and satires in recent years' comics, I feel nobody's doing "pure" superheroes anymore.) However, a reader of the now-defunct Wreck-Shop message board which acted as midwife to Dyna's birth suggested a more modern name: BlackBox! I liked it, and I'm using it. (Thanks, Cowprobe!) |
