COMMENTARY: I was done with the drawing, and was all ready to add the dialogue to this strip (I'd even thought up what I felt was a cute "tense humor" line for the cop in the corner of Panel 1: "Come on, people, let's evacuate in an orderly stampede!")... when it occurred to me that the sequence already worked well without dialogue. Which would have mainly consisted of such deathless prose as "help!", "run for your lives!" etc. And you can already imagine these poor people saying things like that already. That led to the decision to leave the page completely without text.
As for the title of today's installment: a small homage to Spider-Man... I've always loved the title of J. Jonah Jameson's editorial denouncing the woebegone webhead in the early issues. |
