I wanted to foreshadow Tetsuko's extraordinary muscle growth by establishing that she already enjoys working out with weights, and even toys with the idea of becoming a full-fledged bodybuilder. This panel lets me suggest that the massive muscularity she'll develop in about 20 or so pages is made at least partially possible by the genetics that let her flex this anomalously large bicep. Plus, I just wanted to put a panel of Tet-chan flexing her muscles early in the story; otherwise we're over halfway through the story before my fellow muscle-girl fans and me get a glimpse of a buffed Tetsuko!
