Looking back on some of these drawings after all this time, I can still visualize Leenah of the Lions as a series of black-and-white movies. (Imagine the Johnny Weismuller Tarzan movies with a sleekly muscular woman as the main character, and you'll get an inkling of what I'm imagining.)

In fact, it was always my intention that Leenah be set in that mythical "jungle" that only existed in Hollywood movies. (Much as another of my comics ideas, Sayyina, sets the adventures of the titular belly-dancer character in the mythical "Middle East" of the Arabian Nights tales rather than the historical one.)

That lion needs to be bigger, doesn't it? Well, that's what I get for working without reference...
