I had fun writing these scenes with the villain of our piece, Hamilton Slade. I always enjoy scenes, such as you'd see in a James Bond movie, wherein the bad guy is sooo polite and oh-so-witty before saying "Time to die, Mr. Bond." I wanted to capture some of that in the repartee between Slade and his head goon, Winston.

Of course, as we'll see in just a page or two, this light-hearted badinage is a thin veneer indeed...
