07: My "Hitchcock"Moment
The only thing I will claim that I have in common with the famous director of such classic films as Rear Window, Dial M for Murder and Psycho is that we both like to put ourselves into our productions as cameo appearances. Although I will grant that, in this case (where I'm commenting on the story and how it's being told), it probably comes across as more MST3K than Hitch.
...and if you want to find my other "cameos", they're here (links will open in new windows):
- Satin Steele (vol. 1) #1, Page 9: Panels 3 and 4: There are three tall guys who look just alike (well, they're supposed to look all alike) in this audience shot (the triplets will transform into Tiger's Paw henchmen); I'm the short guy with glasses standing beside and just behind the triplet in the left-hand third of both panels. (No, no, behind the old bald guy with the glasses; I still had dark hair in those days!)
- Satin Steele (vol. 1) #2, Page 9 (again!): Panel 3: Another audience shot, this time at the contest at which Satin is guest-posing. (Audiences are the easiest way to work yourself in to your own comic: you can always be a member of an audience!) Matt is holding up a camera; I'm the guy in the seat beside him also holding a camera. (How else am I supposed to know what Satin looks like when she's posing? I take photos of her at her contests!)
- Satin Steele (vol. 1) #3, Page 5: Panel 5: I actually gave myself a speaking part! One line: "Katie! Eve Coriander was on ESPN and I missed it?" Well, they say there are no small parts, only short ones...
(And don't be surprised if I'm also in the audience for the Florida Atlantic Bodybuilding Championships in Satin Steele (vol. 2) #1, "Contest Jitters"...)
